After 90 years of existence, Maheu&Maheu holds a leading position in pest management, both in Canada and in North America.

Needless to say, Maheu&Maheu is the biggest player in the industry in the province of Quebec. Over the years, Maheu&Maheu's expertise in eco-sensitive approaches has extended far beyond the borders of North America as their experts were called upon to share their knowledge in England, Germany and Japan.

Exceptional growth in recent years

The recent pandemic has confirmed that pest management is without a doubt an essential service that is resistant to multiple external factors. Indeed, the company experienced an unexpected growth spurt which was maintained once things returned to normal. The Quebec / Chaudière-Appalaches regional office, whose size was becoming too large, was split into 2 distinct offices whose border is the St. Lawrence River. The same move was made in the greater Montreal region in 2022 to create the regional offices of Montreal South Shore and Montreal North Shore.

Employee shareholding: a collective, fair and profit-generating business model

At a time where talent retention is an everyday subject, it is clear that Maheu&Maheu was visionary in opening shareholding to employees in 1994. The company thus offers employees who have completed 3 reference years the possibility to acquire shares by granting them a loan at the prescribed rate. Subsequently, they may have access to additional shares according to the performance plan related to their function. This motivating business model for employees allowed to retain the best human resources over the years, and 30 years later, it is clear that employee-shareholders have greatly benefited from this program.

A change in management

The eldest of the 3rd generation, Michel Maheu, who has nearly 45 years with the company, passed the torch of general management to his cousin Louis-Philippe Maheu who was director of finance and operations. A position of director of operations was created to ease the burden on Louis-Philippe and to support the numerous regional directors who have recently taken office. This position has been occupied by Sébastien Maheux since January 1st.

The company is owned by 52 members of 3 generations of the Maheu Family and 108 employee-shareholders. Today, Maheu&Maheu operates 8 regional offices located in London in Ontario, Boucherville, Terrebonne, Saint-Léonard-d'Aston, Quebec where their head office is based, Sainte-Marie, Rimouski and Moncton in New Brunswick, thus covering a vast territory. The company has also established strategic alliances with various partners that allowing to expand their market throughout Canada. Maheu&Maheu employs around 170 people.
