Mice are very abundant this Summer

We never had that many requests for mouse control at this time of the year. This not only true for Quebec, we experience exactly the same in Ontario and Atlantic Canada.

Not only lawns are missing water this season! July 2012 will make history with 5 days of rain and pretty high average temperatures. The trend continues in August with only 6 days of rain so far in the region of Quebec. These conditions have an impact on most living creatures, including humans: they seek water. Ants or mice, all animals are more visible and get closer to homes in search of water and cooler areas like your garage or basement. We never had that many requests for mouse control at this time of the year. This not only true for Quebec, we experience exactly the same in Ontario and Atlantic Canada. The mild Autumn we had in 2011 allowed for an extra generation of mice! On top of that, add vegetation management along roads and numerous road works, it is clear that we are more likely to find them near homes this Summer.

One tip to avoid mice from getting into your home: make sure that windows and doors are tight and that contours of pipes and electrical wiring is perfectly sealed. Also, install some multiple catch-traps around the house so you catch them before they make their way in! For the ultimate peace of mind, ask for one of our pest management specialists. He will identify risk areas and advise on corrective actions to be taken.

Be careful because rodents that remained in the wild will tend to move closer to our homes when cold weather show-up. For more details, please contact our customer service representatives!
